Yoga Therapy

Coming in Mid June 2024!

The  initial yoga therapy session consists of an intake, assessment and goal planning. We will discuss your current health concerns, posture, range of motion and health goals. The remaining sessions consist of yoga movement, breathing techniques, meditation and mindfulness, affirmations, resources for at-home practice, holistic lifestyle practices, and evidence-based practices from biopsychosocial and spiritual models.

Yoga therapy can include core strengthening, somatic movements to reset neural pathways, body awareness techniques, vocalizing tonal vibrations, symbolic hand gestures, and holistic Ayurvedic practices for improved lifestyle and balance.

Shannon Massie Eisner’s inspiration as a yoga therapist is to help clients sort through their current challenges, discover opportunities to live healthier, and find accessible practices that align with their values.

Having been an athlete at the US Naval Academy (where she earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors) and experienced the physical & mental demands as a Marine Corps officer, Shannon continues to value health and is grateful for her yoga & coaching journey with its holistic approach to health and wellness.

Shannon has 1600 training hours in yoga, of which 900 are specifically in Yoga Therapy, and 200 hours of training in Ayurveda.  Shannon has been teaching yoga for 13 years, yoga therapy for 11 years, and has over 1000 teaching hours. She has worked in three clinical settings as part of integrative wellness teams, providing yoga therapy to staff experiencing burnout & grief, along with clients with complex injuries who were also experiencing PTSD & challenges to their mental health.

Shannon has lived internationally for ten years, in Hawai'i for another ten years and speaks six languages.  She holds a Master's degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master's degree in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. With diverse career experiences, her strengths include cultural adaptability and empathy for the challenges clients face with work-life integration. She is grateful for the opportunity to support clients in their transformation to living with renewed self-compassion.
